Turtles in Trouble spotlights the world’s most endangered tortoises and freshwater turtles — a periodically updated assessment, compiled by the Turtle Conservation Coalition, of the species at greatest risk of extinction. Each edition draws on the expertise of specialists worldwide to focus conservation attention where it is most urgently needed.
Conservation Biology of Freshwater Turtles and Tortoises
This major compilation project is producing individual, peer-reviewed species accounts documenting the biology, distribution, and conservation status for all 300+ modern freshwater turtles and tortoises. Published by Chelonian Research Foundation (joined by Turtle Conservancy since 2017) as part of the Chelonian Research Monographs series, each account is freely downloadable, citeable, and assigned a unique DOI—published on an ongoing basis and modeled loosely on the Catalogue of American Amphibians and Reptiles.
