Turtles of the World: Taxonomy and Synonymy

BIBLIOGRAPHY

This bibliography is divided into two sections:

(1) All primary taxonomic citations for modern turtles noted in all our checklists (TTWG 2007b, 2009, 2010; Rhodin et al. 2008), including all descriptions of new species, subspecies, and genera, replacement names (nomina nova) for all taxa and genera, and cited suprageneric names.

(2) Additional literature cited in the introductions and annotations to all our checklists, including taxonomic revisions and related publications that do not contain primary taxonomic citations.

Links to downloadable pdf's will be gradually included as available. These are strictly for personal non-commercial research and educational use only, for the benefit of individual turtle researchers, conservationists, and students, and especially for members of the IUCN Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group. For references with missing pdf's we request that they be sent to us for inclusion here if they are available. Please contact [email protected] to submit pdf's.
